Vice Chancellor's Office

At Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all visitors. As the Vice-Chancellor, it is my privilege to introduce our esteemed institution, an academic hub situated in Bondo, Siaya County, a serene location just a short distance from Siaya Town. Our university is strategically positioned, offering proximity to Kisumu City and the breathtaking Lake Victoria, enriching our academic and cultural landscape.

JOOUST stands as a testament to academic excellence and innovation. Our diverse academic programs, accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE), are crafted to meet contemporary global demands. Focused on practicality, our programs are underpinned by scientific research, innovation, and collaboration with industries, aligned with global agendas like the UN Sustainable Development Goals, African Union Agenda 2063, and Kenya Vision 2030.

Nestled amidst lush greenery and the serene Lake Victoria, our university boasts a conducive environment for learning, discovery, and growth. This location serves as an inspiration for academic pursuits and offers rich cultural heritage and research opportunities. Our close proximity to Kisumu City and Lake Victoria provides easy access to a diverse range of activities and resources unique to this region.

Our commitment extends beyond academic rigor. We pride ourselves on holistic development through an array of co-curricular activities such as sports, drama, music, and student governance. These activities foster leadership skills and personal growth, complementing our academic curriculum.

The Division of Planning, Administration, and Finance plays a crucial role in ensuring an optimal learning environment. Through meticulous policy formulation and implementation, this division supports the university's operations, ensuring effective service delivery and efficient management.

Moreover, our Research, Innovation, and Outreach (RIO) initiatives have secured substantial grants from esteemed international bodies like USAID and VLIR-UOS in Belgium. These partnerships facilitate scholarships and capacity-building programs, offering invaluable opportunities for staff and exceptional students.
